Community Challenge Relay

The concept behind the community challenge relay is to bring community agencies together in a friendly atmosphere to support a worthy cause. One by one, teams of four ran a distance of 100 feet while balancing the Light of Hope "torch” (a soft plastic cone balancing an inflatable beach ball). At the end of the relay leg each runner passed the torch to a team member who returned carrying the torch in the opposite direction. Longtime CASA volunteer Jeff Lightburn engineered the simple yet challenging torch. Four teams in total participated: DHS, the local Deputy District Attorneys, CASA, and Deschutes Brewery.
